April Fool’s “Cupcake”

April Fool’s Day is just around the corner. I don’t think this would “fool” an older child, but it did fool my 4 year old. When he found out it was an apple, he wanted nothing to do with it, he did like the frosting though.

For the apple:

Cut off the top of the apple, and remove the core, fill the hole with a healthier treat, like peanuts or raisins.

For the frosting:

Mix together one jar of Marshmallow Fluff with one brick of cream cheese. Pipe it on top of the apple, decorate with sprinkles and enjoy!

For a variation you could also do a peanut butter frosting.

  2. Great idea - I will plan on the peanut butter version to "fool" chubs the hubs. Hard to get the guy to eat fruit.

  4. That's awesome. Luckily my kids love apples right now. But they're too young to know any better. haha. I do think it would be a great fun dessert for a spring picnic.

  9. I am totally bookmarking this for next year. I was planning on making 'toast and eggs' with marshmallows, tinted yellow frosting and pound cake, but never got around to it *sigh*.
