Eat This

I spent a large amount of time over the last two years on a diet. I always get mad when I buy something low cal. and its inedible, and ends up in the trash. I know a lot of women are trying to lose weight, and many of you have asked me how I did it (click here to see my fat pic.). I thought I would do my own version of “Eat This” and share with you what I have found to be low cal. and delicious. I know I wish someone would have told me. I also am trying to lose more weight, so I am revisiting all these foods again. A woman who is trying to maintain their weight should have a caloric intake no greater then 2,000, when dieting it should be around 1,200-1500 calories.

I am going to do Fast Food first.

Wendy’s

Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich

wendys chicken

Calories: 320 Fat:7g Choose either mandarin oranges (80 cal) or side salad (130), and a diet soda

Or try a Jr. Cheeseburger, Calories: 260, Fat: 11g

McDonald’s

Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken Wrap & Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

snack-wrap-honeymustard-chicken parfait

Wrap- Calories: 260, Fat: 9g, Parfait- Calories: 160, Fat: 2g

They also now have a snack wrap Happy Meal. Get the grilled Honey Mustard wrap and apple dippers w/ caramel sauce. Calories: 360, Fat: 9g

A medium sized Double Cheeseburger Value meal w/ a coke is 1,030 calories, and 19 g of fat. That’s almost a whole days worth of calories in one meal! Is it any wonder our country has the highest obesity rate?

Taco Bell

2 Fresco Chicken Soft Tacos

Chicken-Taco-Fresco-Style-de

Calories: 269, Fat 8g, Make sure to order it Fresco style.

Chik-Fil-A

Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich (this is by far my fav. fast food choice)

chickfila

Calories: 260, Fat: 3g, Ask for a packet of the Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce (60 cal). Add a Fruit Cup for 100 cal, and 0 fat

Pizza Hut

2 slices of Veggie Lover’s , medium & thin and crispy

sigThinCrustLg

Calories: 196, Fat: 6g, add a breadstick for 47 cal, and 6 g of fat

Chipotle

chipotle

Chicken Burrito Bowl w/ lettuce, black beans, green tomatillo salsa, and sour cream.

Calories: 489, Fat: 22g

This is on the high end of calories and fat, skip the sour cream to save some calories and fat grams. The proportions are also huge, it could make 2 small meals.

I love Chipotle's salad (no rice, tons of lettuce) with chicken, black beans, tomatoes and the medium 'corn salsa'. I skip the sour cream and cheese and hold the dressing. It's super tasty.

I'm trying to lose a few pounds too. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm not familiar with Chipotle, but I hear people in the bloggy/twitter world mention it frequently. I love the yogurt parfaits, but I'll have to try to wrap out sometime. Thanks!

those yogurt and fruit parfaits at Mcdonalds, my kids and I are addicted. We actually debated about going today. But I instead grabbed some yogurt and frozen fruit from the market and we made homemade ones-addicting and cheap though the mcd's one.

thanks for sharing!

Wow there's variety - I've been on going to Subway. Hubs is on some "new" diet now (he doesn't get the whole portion concept!) and its pretty much all veggies or turkey burgers with no bun on a bed of spinach. It's healthy, quick to fix and I eat my bread when he's not home!

You are making me SO hungry!! I don't get fast food very often, but it is tough to remember to get the "better" things on the menu. Thanks for the reminder!
