Taste of Summer

The weather has been so beautiful in Florida this last week, mid 80’s with a slight breeze. While I am really enjoying it now, I know it means that there is only about one more month until the humidity is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I hate FL summers, you sweat in places you shouldn’t, your hair looks like crap, you have to “pre-cool” your car, and your stuck in the house because you fear heat exhaustion if you venture out.

However it is still nice now, so nice I let the boys run through the sprinkler.

rosprink Rowan loved it.

crocs Ezra wasn’t so sure.

ezp To all of you stuck in snow and mud, summer is coming I promise.

Go check out other people’s great photos here:

  8. Ah yes. NC summers are very similar. I think maybe a little less hot, but the humidity is just as thick. I remember my first year down there, how the trees were budding in March. It's March now and there are no trees budding in PA. I'm excited to be going back down to NC for a visit to enjoy the little bit of spring before the summer hits hard.

Loved the pictures. The sprinkler looks like so much fun!

  14. They look so summery! We in SoCal are not quite there yet. Though we have lots of sun shinning on us. Yay sun!

But even more interesting is your description of FL in the summer since I will be spending a month in Jacksonville with the kidletts this summer. Being a Cali girl I can honestly say I have no idea what humidity from hell really is, I can only guess. Your description sounds so appealing. But I have a plan. I will build a steam room and force my family in it raising the temp every day until we leave. Think that will work?

  15. I'm in central Florida. This week felt so much more like summer. I just know it is going to be here for good any day. I can handle this but when you go outside and the air is so thick and you can't breath...... yuck!
