Its that time of year again, where against our better judgment, we take our kids to countless Easter themed activities. The kids frantically scramble to put plastic eggs filled with crap into their baskets, as they get pushed over by larger kids, while we giggle from the sidelines. Inevitably a grown man dressed up as the Easter bunny makes a creepy appearance. They usually look something like this.
Only whenever I see a man in an Easter bunny costume all I can think of is this.
“Frank” the bunny from Donnie Darko, he gives me the heebie jeebies. Donnie Darko has forever ruined the Easter bunny for me. If you haven’t seen the movie I highly recommend it, it will completely confuse you, and have you questioning all sorts of notions.

ReplyDeleteI have never taken my kids to see the Easter bunny. I'm not sure how exactly they would react to him/her. But yesterday my daughter and I were on the computer and I ran across that first picture you posted. Well, my daugher says, "Mom is that what the Easter bunny really looks like? Because that is just not a very nice look Easter bunny." ha ha

ReplyDeleteMy kids are ok with the easter bunny, it's the tooth fairy that creeps them out. They are bothered by the fact that someone or something is in their bedroom when they are sleeping. They also want to know what the heck he does with all those teeth.

That Donnie Darko bunny cracks me up. I've not seen the movie. I don't think my kids have ever seen the Easter bunny unless it was at school or something. Their dad takes them out to drive around town to look for the bunny while I'm hiding eggs. I call them when I'm done and say I just saw him hopping past the house or something silly like that.
