Easter Egg Nest

I am going to leave you with a craft to make over the weekend. When I saw this idea in Family Fun, I knew I had to make it. It is so cute, and I love bird nests.

Here is what you will need:

- Crayola Model Magic (1 pkg per nest) you can buy colored clay or buy white and paint it

- Garden clippers

- Twigs and yarn, straw, or other nest-building materials

Instructions:

- Shape the clay into a shallow bowl with thick sides, (think pinch pot method from elementary)

- Using the clippers, cut twigs on the diagonal, creating pointed ends. Insert the twigs at an angle into the nest's outer wall as shown, working your way around the nest's circumference.

- Line the nest with the yarn or straw and press other nest-building materials into the clay where desired. Let it dry overnight.

This is a great craft for lots of ages of children, Ro painted this, stuck the sticks in, and wound the yarn around it.

I also made the eggs out of the clay and covered them with Martha Stewart’s glitter (which I love!) I found the little chicks at Michael's. I also found some paper mache eggs that I covered with glitter too (did I mention I love glitter?) You can also put your dyed Easter eggs in the nests as well.

Have a great weekend!
