3 things you did not know about me

I am giving the MckLinky blog hop thing a try this week, it really confused me for a couple of weeks (it doesn’t take much) ....hopefully I have it figured out. Here are 3 things you may not have known.

1. I have 2 sons, Rowan, and Ezra. Ezra, my 2 year old was diagnosed with Leukemia a couple of months ago, it consumes a lot of our time right now. I write about it on this blog and over here as well. My regular readers obviously know this one, but if your new here you wouldn’t know about my sweet boy. We could use all the prayers and positive energy we can get.

2. I am terrified of interstate driving. I do ok if its not busy, but if its busy and there are 3, or heaven forbid 4 lanes, I am white knuckling it. It may have to do something with being rear ended by a semi in my VW beetle when I was 19. I will never forget seeing a semi grill coming at me in my rear view mirror. It was in stop and go traffic but he still crunched the hell out of my beetle.

3. I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Florida when I was 23 to go to Zookeeper school…yep you read that right. I got to have a lot of great experiences, like being licked by a lion, having a hawk dig its talons into my scalp, or having my finger nipped by an exotic parrot. I did a year of the program and decided to be scooping the human variety of poop vs. animal poop. My first son, Rowan was born shortly after.

  6. Oh wow, my prayers are with your little Erzra.
I've been to Minnesota once, it's FAR to cold for me, but I liked the round barns. Very unique.

I loved living in Florida, I lived in Cape Coral/Pine Island area for the past 5 years. I love animals, so I'd totally dig that experiance bird poop and all. lol

    Happy blog hopping!

  7. Oh wow! I'm terrified of big rigs and I have NOT been rear ended by one. I cannot even begin to imagine! Bless your heart!

So cool about the zoo keeper school! I'm not a fan of animal poop myself though. lol

  8. I am keeping you, your family and Ezra in my prayers! What a sad diagnosis... Sending lots of hugs your way!

I too feel the same about interstate driving when there are big trucks around... too scary! But I seem to do okay other than that. :)

Hope you're having a happy Tuesday. I just popped over on the blog hop. :)

  11. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yeah I'm crazy for not letting them eat sweets, but I do. lol...

I also have an almost 2 year old boy who has medical problems, no idea what's wrong yet, but we are undergoing tons of tests to try to figure them out. It's been two years of my gut telling me somethings wrong and two years of back and fourth I hope we are finally getting somewhere. I will be praying for your son and your family!

  22. Hi, swwetling! I used to wish that there were separate highways for semi-trucks! Impractical? Yes, but so much easier for us white-knucklers!

  23. I'm so sorry about your son. I wondered what diagnosis you were talking about when you left your comment on my blog, and now I know. I'll keep him and you in my prayers, and I'm going to add one of those badges to my sidebar.

I'm okay with 3 lanes or even 4. I just don't like going over 4. There's a part of Atlanta where I75 merges into I85, and it's like 7 or 8 lanes I think. Whenever I drive it, especially if I'm unfortunate enough to do so in rush hour traffic, I'm hunched over that wheel like an old lady.

I keep saying my nephew needs to be a zoologist. He loves animals, and they all seem to love him. He'd wear an animal injury like a badge of honor. Me, I'd probably just whine...or blog about it.

  24. I'm still keeping your beautiful Ezra in my P&PT's. I get the freeway thing, if I'd been rearended by a semi, I'd white knuckle drive also. As it is, I hit a median wall head-on going 55mph so I was terrified of being in the fast lane near the median wall for years! I actually mentioned that in a recent blog. :)

  25. I don't really like driving on interstates either. Especially since the speed limits been raised to 70. I don't like going the fast or being with other cars who do. I'm a weenie about driving through big cities on the interstate. If I can go another way I will.

Thanks for visiting my blog. God Bless
