I made this craft with my four year old, he really liked it, especially all the different steps that go in to making it.
What you will need:
- toilet paper tube
- cardstock or other heavy weight paper
- glue or tape
- colored pipe cleaner
- google eyes
- black marker
- glitter
- paint and paint brush
To make this fun craft:
First, paint the toilet paper tube, and let it dry completely.
Cut out some wings from cardstock, decorate them how ever you like. We first added some glue.
Then a little glitter…okay a lot of glitter. Let it dry.
Glue or tape on the wings, antennae, and google eyes. Draw a smiley face on. And let your butterfly take flight!

very cute, I will have to make this w/ Will.
ReplyDeletethat's really cute...and around here, i swear the girlies eat the tp, so we'll be making them soon!
ReplyDeletei might modify for the doggy bday party for b in a few weeks to make dog bones. i need to think about how i would do it tho. hmmmmmm
Fabulous idea!!! Love this! My Annabelle is going to love making this one. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Think I might plan a Crafty Playdate for the kids and make bats and butterflies!
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! Decades ago I worked for a scrap craft magazine called Pack-O-Fun - I think they still have a magazine? It was all crafts to make from "scrap" - you'd get a kick out of it. Also, if you want a giggle, read my blog Millie-Wisdom before it goes into archives. The response has been over-whelming!
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly is really pretty, Beth!
ReplyDeleteI like the butterfly, you have inspired me to getting sticking with my children.
ReplyDeleteI was interested to read your old posts on bi-polar. My husband(we are divorcing-not my choice) has a cocaine & alcohol problem but has exhibited typical bi-polar behaviour for years. He won't do anything about it. I have made a mental note of teens behaviour too as I do worry about my children who seem to suffer with OCD at the moment.
Take care. :0)
Love this idea. I will have to do this with my God Daughter. What a great post! Thank you so much for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so crafty. I think I would by the type of mother who's like "Okay, what TV show do we want to watch today?"
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post to remind us of what is ACTUALLY important. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I do crafts with my 10 year old she always says "We need more glitter!" Just goes to show, you can never have enough glitter!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have enough glitter!! I really look forward to having craft time with my future kids one day...I will do lots of awesome projects like this!
