Toilet Paper Tube Butterfly

bfly4

I made this craft with my four year old, he really liked it, especially all the different steps that go in to making it.

What you will need:

  • toilet paper tube
  • cardstock or other heavy weight paper
  • glue or tape
  • colored pipe cleaner
  • google eyes
  • black marker
  • glitter
  • paint and paint brush

To make this fun craft:

First, paint the toilet paper tube, and let it dry completely.

Cut out some wings from cardstock, decorate them how ever you like. We first added some glue.

Then a little glitter…okay a lot of glitter. Let it dry.

Glue or tape on the wings, antennae, and google eyes. Draw a smiley face on. And let your butterfly take flight!

  5. Oh how cute! Decades ago I worked for a scrap craft magazine called Pack-O-Fun - I think they still have a magazine? It was all crafts to make from "scrap" - you'd get a kick out of it. Also, if you want a giggle, read my blog Millie-Wisdom before it goes into archives. The response has been over-whelming!

  7. I like the butterfly, you have inspired me to getting sticking with my children.
I was interested to read your old posts on bi-polar. My husband(we are divorcing-not my choice) has a cocaine & alcohol problem but has exhibited typical bi-polar behaviour for years. He won't do anything about it. I have made a mental note of teens behaviour too as I do worry about my children who seem to suffer with OCD at the moment.
    Take care. :0)

  9. You are so crafty. I think I would by the type of mother who's like "Okay, what TV show do we want to watch today?"
