Hello Manic Mother readers!
My name is Connie and I blog at The Young and The Relentless. Beth and I share a love of Martha Stewart, crafting and baking. It's the glue that bonds our friendship although we've never met in person. Beth is one of the people on my list of *must meet bloggers* and I can't wait to make that a reality someday. I'm inspired by her craftiness, her strength and her humor.
I'm happy that I was able to give her a day off. I hope you enjoy the vlog I prepared for you today...and that you're inspired to make your own Turkey Cookies.
First bake your cookies. You can do this with sugar cookies or peanut butter cookies and if you are pressed for time use the slice and bake kind.
You also need:
chocolate frosting
candy corn
mini chocolate chips
orange frosting
ziploc bags or pastry bag
Apply a little chocolate frosting on the "top" of your cookie. It doesn't need to be super thick, just enough to give the candy corns staying power. Apply your candy corns so they slightly overhang the edge of your cookie. I did single layers here, but for larger cookies you could double layer. This is the part that is great for child participation!! And they can snack on a few candy corns too. Now for the personality: spoon some orange vanilla frosting into a ziploc bag and carefully snip the very corner of the bag. This will allow you to draw your beaks and legs. To make the eyes....dip mini chocolate chips into the chocolate frosting and set them in place. Enjoy!
Thank you Connie! I heart you.

What a marvelous idea, so creative yet simple. Thank you for sharing this.
This was great! Mallory reminds me so much of Eleanor. I couldn't even attempt this with my boys - they'd just stick their hands in the frosting.
We'll have to watch this again. Eleanor is on my lap and she said she wants "more"
I heart me some Connie too! Great video!
Very nice! Great cookies, and ALL from scratch! :-)
Loved it Connie! You guys are so cute! You need your own show!

I love that you wore pearls.
Great idea Connie, loved your video. Thanks for helping Beth out, I know she's been having a really busy time with Ezra. You are a sweetie to do this.
