What a difference a year makes… We all are in such a better place than we were last year at this time. Last year Ezra was amidst the toughest part of his chemotherapy treatment. He had lost all of his hair, and we couldn’t see beyond the diagnosis that was handed to us only a handful of months prior.
And while cancer and leukemia are still a part of our daily routine, we don’t focus on it. We haven’t let it break down our family, and we haven’t let it define who we are.
Instead it has taught us to love, live, and laugh more, to prize our family above all else, and to grasp and capture every moment we can, because the fleet of life and youth is sometimes to fast to even fathom.
I am ever so grateful for this little boy.
