Anticipation

I am completely filled with anticipation over the birth of little baby man. I don’t sleep very well anymore, I usually get a few painful Braxton Hicks at night. And then I lay there wondering if I should get out my iphone and start timing them, and then they subside. But I am left wondering when he will actually come. I waddle myself in circles during the day, doing laundry, cleaning, checking the internet, running errands, and napping.

I really want to meet him, I am dying to know what/who he looks like. While I think you can definitely tell Rowan and Ezra are brothers, they don’t look a lot alike, besides the white/blonde hair and blue eyes. Rowan looks a lot like I did as a child. Ezra looks just like his dad. So who will this baby look like? I can’t wait to see him and his full head of hair.

I went through old pictures today to see if I could find newborn pictures of both of the boys.

Here is Rowan. He had quite a bit of hair at birth also.

Here is Ezra. The first thing I said to husband when he came out was “he has your nose” and my husband beamed, he was so proud. He didn’t have as much hair.

Pregnancy Tips

Now that I have done this whole pregnancy thing a whopping three times, that completely qualifies me as veteran….or something. There are certain things I have found to make life a little easier while pregnant.

- Wear running/walking shoes. Wear them all the time, even when at home. Only take them off to sleep and shower. I didn’t try this until my 3rd pregnancy and my back and legs have hurt substantially less this time.

image

- Speaking of leg pain. I have not had one charlie horse this whole pregnancy *knock on wood*. If you feel one coming on (they usually happen in bed) flex your toes toward your face. I have felt many coming on but have been able to stop them by flexing my toes. I had awful ones with my other pregnancies. Maybe its the shoes…?

image

- Vary your TUMS flavors, the tropical fruit flavors are surprisingly tasty. From about the 5th month on, do yourself a favor and just pop a couple before bed.

image

- Icy Hot is amazing, use it.

image

- If you live in a state that has insanely hot summers, take this into consideration when child planning. 3rd trimester + insane heat and humidity = no fun. Neither is the accompanying heat rash you will inevitably get all over your back and belly. Not to mention the sweat in all sorts of wrong places…

image

- Although not marketed as maternity clothes, men’s undershirts (aka wife beaters) may be one of the most comfortable maternity clothing options out there….just don’t wear them in public. I wear them around the house all the time and throw a real shirt over them when I need to go out.

image- There are limitations to what you physically can accomplish pregnant. I always hate to admit this to myself, and I tend to over do it on more than one occasion while pregnant. Admit this to yourself, and ask for help when you need it.

image

- Around the 5th month buy yourself one of these, I never did, but really wish I had. So many of you chimed in saying they really are useful.

What have you found helpful in your pregnancies?

For Ezra

If you follow my other blog where I update on Ezra’s medical condition, I had to change the web address. Its now www.forezra.blogspot.com, apparently the domain was set to automatically renew but my credit card on file had expired, and some ass hat lovely person bought the domain. I don’t want to pay $70 to get it back since I don’t update it very often *knock on wood*. If your a follower on it, I don’t think anything should change for you.

Sorry for the inconvenience. And the buttons on that blog have been updated too.

Eight Months…

8months1

No, I didn’t drop off the face of the blogosphere. I have just been a busy bee. And to be honest its become even uncomfortable to sit on the couch at my laptop. I am huge now, I don’t even think that picture encompasses my whole belly. The only thing that is even remotely comfortable now is laying on my side in bed.

I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by, even for me the queen of impatience. We are all ready for little baby man to make his entrance, we have all the gear, we just need the baby.

---------------------------

Rowan is really excited to meet his brother, he keeps asking me how many sleeps till the baby gets here (followed by how many sleeps till he goes back to school). He kisses and pats my belly daily, he even sang to the baby the other day. He is such a sweet boy.

I think even Ezra is a little excited, although I am not sure he knows why. Ezra has been a rock star at potty training lately which makes me really happy.

---------------------------

Pregnancy is an odd thing to me, it makes me eat things I normally wouldn’t. This months discovery are pickles and potato chips on my sandwiches, I never liked pickles on my sandwiches…not sure why, now I think its amazing. Followed by an intense love for key lime pie. I can’t believe I waited 30 years before I ate this pie…it is divine, and now I must make up for lost time with this pie.

---------------------------

I am getting increasingly nervous about giving birth. Yes, I know I have done this twice before, but it doesn’t make it any less terrifying. I just want him home, I would love to skip the whole giving birth process. A stork delivery would be freaking awesome…..

Only a little over a month to go!!!

Great News!!!

ushair

I went in yesterday for an ultrasound to determine whether or not my placenta had moved. And hooray it has!!! No c-section (*knock on wood*) for me!

Little baby man is no longer breech. He is measuring a little bit ahead of the due date they gave me, which I have always thought was a little off anyways since I knew when he was conceived. He is measuring 32 weeks and weighs 4lbs, he is in the 53rd percentile.

He also has a ton of hair! If you see in the picture the tech said the white stuff is all hair, she said that is a ton of hair for only 31 weeks. I can’t wait to see it. Rowan came out with a full head of white/blonde hair at birth also.

This news was a huge weight off my shoulders. I now can just look forward to meeting him. My OB said it was likely this baby would also come a couple weeks early since my last baby did. That means he could be here in about 6 weeks! So excited!!!

4th of July Weekend in Pictures

Has it really been almost 2 weeks since I last posted something? Wow, what a slacker! In my defense I have been trying to keep myself as busy as possible to make the days go by faster. I have been busy with my photography business, play dates, appointments, and all the other countless things being a pregnant mom entails.

I planned a bunch of fun things for us to do over the weekend. On Friday we met some of our family at the movie theater and saw Toy Story 3. Like a fly to honey my husband spotted stick on moustaches in one of those crank machines and was putting quarters into it fast as he could. I love that he got the blonde moustache.

He of course also had to see how it would look on our 3 week old nephew. My husband is an 8 year old boy at heart, I so love that about him. It makes him a really great daddy.

The city we live in sets off their firework display on the 3rd for whatever unknown reason. So Saturday night we set out to see the fireworks. We stopped for ice cream first. Ro loves ice cream with sprinkles, Ezra wanted to play with his.

4th1 4th2

It rained hard Saturday night although we stuck it out and they finally set the fireworks off at 10. I don’t have any pictures worth sharing from that, we watched them from the back of our minivan.

Sunday we had a lazy day around the house with more rain. It let up at night though and we were able to have our own little firework show for the boys. It started out all right.

4th3 4th4

Rowan the thrill seeker loved the fireworks.

Ezra ever the cautionary did not love them, he went inside and watched from the window.

4th7 4th6

Little baby man was indifferent to the festivities….

Ro was finally brave enough to hold his own sparkler this year.

4th11   4th12

Ezra finally ventured back out and sat on my lap while I held my hands over his ears, and daddy lit off the remaining fireworks.

4th13

I asked Ezra the next day if he liked the fireworks, to which he responded “yes, great colors!” Silly boy.

How was your 4th?
